To kick off The Wild World of Gross, I would like to begin with Conjuctivitus, or Pink Eye. Just the name conjuctivitus sounds gross… Anyways, I’ve always been facinated and thouroughly grossed out by pink eye after my sister told me you get it if you get poop in your eye…. At first I remember thinking, “What idiot rubs crap in their eyes?” And then she proceeded to tell me it’s from not washing your hands and from getting swirlies in public bathrooms…

Now, Wikipedia says NOTHING about crap in the eye, but, it does say that there is viral, bacterial and chemical conjuctivitus. http://dft.ba/-crap-in-the-eye The photos are SUPER gross for the bacterial variety. Nice and pusy and totally gross…

Bacterial conjunctivitis due to common pyogenic (pus-producing) bacteria causes marked grittiness/irritation and a stringy, opaque, greyish or yellowish mucopurulent discharge that may cause the lids to stick together, especially after sleep. Another symptom that could be caused by bacterial conjunctivitis is severe crusting of the infected eye and the surrounding skin.

Now, if that’s not gross…. I don’t know what is….
